  • About The Artist Sculptor. b. 1907, Russia. Immigrated 1927. Studies: 1933 Paris. Teaching: Avni Institute, Tel Aviv. Prizes: 1945-46 Dizengoff Prize; 1953 Haifa Municipality Prize; 1985 Sandberg Prize, Israel Museum. On his immigration joined Kvutza of Hashomer Hatzair and later was a founder of Kibbutz Afikim. 1937 A founder of New Horizons Group. 1962 Participated in Venice Biennale. Executed many memorials and environmental sculptures all over Israel, including: Memorial to Fallen of War of Independence, Rehovot; stone sculpture at Kennedy Memorial; ?Ladders? (executed in 1957), gift of the sculptor to Tel Aviv University in 1994. Died September 2000.
